Jesus Matheus presents a precise selection of new works that include minimal, abstract oil paintings, prints, drawings, and three dimensional wood constructions. This cohesive presentation confirms the maturity of Matheus’ work and the artist’s place in the notable resurgence of abstract geometric art.

Maria Schön was selected to exhibit in an upcoming exhibition at the Islip Art Museum titled Free Play. The exhibition explores the realms of fantasy, enchantment and dreams. Guest curator Judith Page, an artist, independent curator and critic, is especially interested in mythological worlds,
improbable imagery, hallucinations and apparitions. Schön exhibits two paintings: Carora and Chichiriviche, displayed as a diptych.

Miquel Salom, the Mayorcan photographer whose unique pieces were included in the 2006 exhibit, Stone Spirits, will have a one-week solo exhibit at The Penthouse Salon of the Roger Smith Hotel in Manhattan (501 Lexington Avenue), from February 12-16.
Salom lives and works on the island of Mayorca, Spain. He had two highly successful solo shows last year in Mayorca, Memento (April 2006) and Organics (July-Septmeber 2006), and is currently being presented by the Island Council of Mayorca at the Contemporary Art Fair in Madrid (Jan. 25-28).
Maria Schön and Moses Ros will participate in an exhibition at the Tengelsen Gallery of the Art League of Long Island, Dix Hills, New York.
The exhibition, titled Segun Nuestros Ojos / Through Our Eyes, curated by Carole Jay, consists in a selection of ten acclaimed artists of Latin American background who explore contemporary perspectives.
Both artists have exhibited in group shows at Solar, Ros in 2004, and Schön more recently, in summer 2006.
Maria Schön was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Venezuelan parents, and educated in Baltimore, Maryland, where she studied art, then later obtained a degree in Film at New York University. She lives and works in Sag Harbor, New York. In past, she has exhibited at Guild Hall and Arlene Bujese Gallery, both in East Hampton.
Moses Ros was born in New York City, his family having relocated there from Dominican Republic, and trained as an architect at Pratt. He has had several public commissions, most recently a stained glass frieze called Patriasana (2005), commissioned by the MTA for the Fordham Road Station, and an interactive children’s sculpture, Mi Casita (2005), at the Williamsburg Day Care Center, Brooklyn. He lives and works in the Bronx, New York, and most recently was included in ¡Merengue! Visual Rhythms / Ritmos Visuales, an exhibition of artists from Dominican Republic currently on view at El Museo del Barrio, New York.
