About Solar

Established in 2001 by Esperanza León, Solar is a unique proposal in the Hamptons, specializing as we do in emerging Latin American artists, and focusing particularly on contemporary art and design from Venezuela.

We represent a rigorous selection of contemporary paintings, drawings, prints, photography, sculpture, and hand-crafted design that demonstrates a continuation of the vanguard, especially of the high-calibre artwork coming out of Latin America and from artists of Latin American background since the early part of the Twentieth Century, much of this art being (re)discovered and recognised today.

Works are continually on exhibit in solo and group shows. We work in satellite spaces and collaborate with other galleries to introduce little-known artists to the scene. We participate regularly in international art fairs and personally deal with private collectors, architects, designers, and consultants.

Our dedication is toward broadening common conceptions and perceptions of ‘Latin American Art’ by promoting awareness of the cultural and artistic diversity present in the creative output of this geographical designation, as well as the international nature and appeal of art in general.
