SOLAR a venue for conceptual art

Ms. Weiss mentions artists Lucia Pizzani (image below from her performance piece, Bocas, from the Vessel series, 2009), Darlene Charneco, Steve Soreff, and Christa Maiwald as examples of artists working in the conceptual field, all of whom have exhibited at SOLAR, Maiwald for instance included in the well-reviewed exhibition What Can Brown Do For You? SOLAR is pleased to announce that Grant Haffner, whose paintings were selected by Irwin Levy for Mood Swings: Collector’s Choice (2009), as well as The Hamptons and Beyond (also curated by Mr. Levy), on view through January 2010 at the Great Neck Municipal Building, has been included in this upcoming exhibition at the Great Neck Arts Center, curated by Georgia Vahue.

An Artists’ Reception will take place on Thursday 21 January, 6:30-9 p.m.
